The collection of the Library comprises of more than 30,000 books in arts and interdisciplinary areas of Sciences.  Reference books such as encyclopaedia, dictionaries, laboratory manuals, projects and general reading books are also available in the library. The Central library has been spreads over to two floors with an area of 1120sq.m. Specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Basic Sciences. The mission of the Library is to acquire, to organize, to utilize and to preserve the information sources and to extend effective and efficient service to the students, research scholars and faculty members of the college. Library is a dynamic instrument of Education. The fundamental function of a library is to build up a collection, which is dynamic and capable of meeting the changing needs and demands of present as well as future uses. A well-equipped and well-managed library is the foundation of Modern Educational set up. The Library has achieved its vision of creation and dissemination of knowledge through ICT which in turn endeavours and empowers faculty and students to achieve excellence in the knowledge paradigm of the region.

Our IT infrastructure is well-equipped with sophisticated and excellent facilities available to the students on an individual basis and also provides a wide range of network computing and files storage services. The network served by high end Linux and Windows Servers running on latest software’s. Licensed versions of all the major program compilers, other front end, back end, scripting, design tools and research oriented tools are available to the students for their regular practice sessions. High Speed Wireless internet facility is provided to all the locations to provide internet access to the faculties and students. Computer lab caters to the needs of the whole Campus in that the remote control of each and every system within each local LANs are centrally controlled from within this CCL. This in effect houses two labs each with 60 most modern Pentium computers. Practice sessions for two 60 batch students can be done simultaneously in these labs. Software generally on which practice sessions are going on, based on curriculum, includes Borland C and C++, Turbo C++, Visual C++, Microsoft .NET Framework, Java 6.0 SE, Microsoft Assembler, COBOL, Oracle 9i, MS-SQL Server etc.

Using the very broad and innovative tool of multimedia, teaching-learning process can be taken to a different level of magnificence, multimedia in the classroom include Power Point presentations that are created by our eminent teachers, commercial software (such as multimedia encyclopaedias) that is used for reference or instruction, or activities that directly engage the students in using multimedia to construct and convey knowledge. Multimedia classroom provide the students chances for interacting with diverse texts that give them a solid background in the tasks and content of courses offered in our college. The higher degree of understanding and visualization bring positive aspects to students so that they can improve their skills.

The college has a sprawling playground and open theatre. Avid sports lovers among the students resort to games and competitions, as often as it could be, thereby strengthening their physical capabilities. Annual sports meet and exhibition matches are organised under the auspices of the College Union. The director of physical instruction surveys the entire schedules and executes them. These are good exercises and help to build fine, physique for the boys and girls. They make them mentally alert and physically strong. Students learn to cope with difficult situations. By displaying their feats before many spectators, they can overcome their nervousness. Moreover these games and sports are good diversions and give them energy to learn their lessons well.

This is an active club, promoted under the aegis of the Department of English. Any student who possesses special lyrical, journalistic and fictional skills, can give vent to his creativity by posting exhibits on the exclusive display board installed by the club, beside the College Office. Teachers of the Department of English provided the requisite fillip to the grooming talents of the campus.

Not Me But You is the motto of the outfit. It strives to inculcate in the minds of the students, a spirit of oneness, integrity, dedication and self-less sacrifice- all intended to mould the development ethos of the country and society. Every volunteer has to put in 240 hours of work, during the membership period of two years. This endeavour on his/her part shall contribute towards environmental protection, societal asset-building, clean and hygienic surroundings and above all a passion towards collusive participation through one’s own physique. Towards the end of the degree program, every successful volunteer shall stand eligible to receive a certificate of recognition, apart from the grace grade from the university.

To redeem and relieve the students of the pressures of modern times and to power-pack them with adequate confidence to face the eventualities of life, we run the Counselling Cell, with the active collaboration and support of the HRIDHAYARAM COUNSELLING CENTRE, KANNUR.  Apart from the in-house facility, phone- in arrangement is also promoted.  Thus way, we allow no student to go unattended, even if the problem confronted by him/her is of trivial implications.  Occasional classes are conducted to enlighten and equip the parents to attend to the academic and social lacunae/deficiencies of their wards.

The PTA is an active component in the success of MMC. It’s Executive Committee has been a source of inspiration and always acted benevolent in improving the basic amenities in the campus. The Executive Committee meets as often as is necessary to sub serve the larger interests of the institution.

The PST meeting is convened as a forum to discuss/ review student performance and to suggest measures to amend / incorporate patterns and models in the teaching-learning processes.

Mary Matha College is behind no other Institution of higher learning when it comes to the question of uncovering and promoting the innate talents of the boys and girls. The Students’ Union is the platform that arranges for the nurturing of the extra-curricular and co-curricular aspects of the learning and experiencing processes.
